The Morse Family Band
consists of Matthew, Leah, Abigail, Aaron, Seth, and Dawn Morse. They like a
variety of music, from old time, mountain music, and folk, to gospel and bluegrass. They try to put a little of
it all in their performances.
The family band was formed in 2006, when Matthew switched from classical violin to old time fiddling. The other
four siblings each chose a favorite instrument and began to learn to play. Dawn (the mom) was surrounded by music
as a child, and has been playing and singing most of her life, beginning with her own family. It seemed only
natural to continue the music with her own children.
Matthew has played violin/fiddle for 9 years. He also plays banjo, guitar, and bass. Leah plays violin; Abigail plays guitar; Aaron plays mandolin and bass; Seth plays guitar; and Dawn plays mandolin, bass, and guitar. As each one gets older, they are broadening their own horizons and learning new instruments. This adds even more variety to their shows. Their love for music and for people shows in what they do.
